NAS (National Aerospace Standard) fasteners are published and maintained by the Aerospace Industries Association — the current generation of U.S. aerospace hardware standards, and the most technically detailed part-number system in the industry. A NAS number encodes geometry, material and finish in a single string; many NAS drawings remain fully active on current-production aircraft.
